The Joy of U-Pick: A Day in the Flowers

There’s something magical about walking through rows of blooms, scissors in hand, sunlight filtering through petals of every color. That’s the beauty of the U-Pick experience at Figureoutable Farm.

When visitors arrive, they’re greeted by the sweet smell of fresh flowers and the hum of bees hard at work. At the farm stand are baskets to use, water to keep them fresh, scissors for collecting flowers, and even a quick rundown on how to cut the stems for the longest-lasting bouquet. Then, it’s off into the fields! All our walkways are covered in fabric to keep your feet clean and make access to the flowers easy. Whether you’re gathering soft pink zinnias, bright plumed celosia, or the cheerful sunflowers that always steal the show, every stem tells a story.

Because the plants are blooming from May to October, it’s a new story every time.

U-Pick isn’t just about flowers — it’s about connection. Families wander together, couples laugh over which colors match, and friends fill their buckets until they’re brimming with beauty. Many say their favorite part is the calm that settles in once they start picking — that moment when you slow down, breathe deep, and remember how good it feels to be outside.

If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the time. Bring a friend, grab your camera, and make a memory that will last long after your bouquet has faded.
